I am a Phil Mickelson fan. Even before he lovingly began supporting his wife and mother through their battles with breast cancer. I have always admired his focus, determination and perseverance. Despite cheering Mickelson through the 4 rounds in the U.S. Open Championship at the Congressional Country Club, I have to say that I enjoyed following Rory McIlroy’s story and grew to admire him as he demonstrated his increasingly tuned mental edge. With the golf world still recovering from the Tiger Woods fallout, it was welcoming to see such a bright-eyed young face, a young man who used to imagine beating Woods in a 5-foot put at the U.S. Open, win the U.S. Open. Congratulations, Rory!
