About Dr. Elizabeth Ward

Dr. Elizabeth Ward helps individuals and teams accelerate their professional, athletic and personal performance. Working with Elizabeth produces a high-return, strategic investment for creating and sustaining positive change.

With over thirty years of experience, education and training, Elizabeth’s unique model has evolved from her background in psychology, her years as a business school professor and her experience as a competitive athlete. A former Harvard University ice hockey player who has also competed internationally against Olympic athletes, Elizabeth collaborates with her clients on how to become effective team members and to excel under pressure. In conjunction with validated instruments including the DiSC©, EQ-i 2.0© and others, Elizabeth customizes assessment services to help organizations optimize hiring and develop leaders.

Elizabeth’s clients range from leaders in the non-profit sector to CEO’s and Fortune 50 executives, from college students to accomplished surgeons and from elite athletes to former Navy SEALs.

Surgeons at Brigham & Women’s Hospital participated in Dr. Elizabeth Ward’s “Resilience amidst Stress” program. Over a six-month period, these doctors learned self-care and mindfulness skills, customized to their busy schedules and resulting in overall greater well-being.

Prior to beginning her career as a coach and consultant, Elizabeth taught for thirteen years at independent schools in Baltimore and Aspen during which she observed students to discern what enables certain individuals to excel. The pursuit of that question led Elizabeth to graduate studies and ultimately performance coaching.

A Harvard graduate, Elizabeth earned her MA in counseling psychology from the University of Denver and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology, with specialties in organizational and sport psychology, from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara. In 2010, she earned a Certificate in Evidence Based Coaching. Elizabeth is a licensed psychologist, a certified coach (PCC) and a mindfulness instructor who helps conduct research with Professor Ellen Langer at Harvard University.

Dr. Ward is a member of the International Coaching Federation, the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and the American Psychological Association.
